CARE - California Access to Recovery Effort

What is the CARE Program?

The California Access to Recovery Effort (CARE) is a new substance abuse treatment and recovery program funded by the President's Access to Recovery initiative. The purpose of this initiative is to allow people in need of substance abuse treatment to make individual choices for recovery on an outpatient-basis that reflect their personal values.

PROGRAM DESCRIPTION
Human Potential Consultants, LLC (HPC) provides recovery supportive services to eligible youth for the CARE Program participants on an individual basis or in a group setting.  Youth must be 15-20 years of age, have completed or are near completion of a sober living program and/or behavioral modification programs; or near completion of juvenile correction facility pre-release activities.

SERVICES

  • Educational Services - Consists of academic tutoring, homework assistance, citizenship skills, pregnancy/HIV prevention, financial management, and anger management in conjunction with employment and other activities.
  • Employment Services - Consists of pre-employment preparation and Soft-Skills training. Youth will receive training in the following areas: intro to real world of work, skills and abilities clarifications; career exploration, job search techniques, career and labor market information.
  • Mentoring Services - Consists of follow-up and follow through sessions between youth and  his/her employment advocate. Also counseling regarding workplace.
